Raylyn Pass is the site of a battle between the Goblin tribe near Traveller's Rest and the 'scaly-folk'. It is named for Raylyn, commander of the Goblin army (despite his un-gobliny name), who lead her people to victory but vanished shortly afterwards. The pass is the only safe route between the Goblins and Traveller's Rest, and is known to become impassable during particularly harsh winters (such as the one that saw Raylyn's victory).
